On behalf of the Walled Lake Western Football Team (WLW), Diamond Golf Outings (DGO) would like to formally announce the 5^th Annual WLW Family Golf Outing.  This year’s event will be held at River Bank Golf Course and Banquet Center on Saturday, July 26, 2003.

The WLW Family Golf Outing has been a great source of pleasure and fun for the coaching staff, volunteers and participants.  In the past, the family golf outing has raised thousands of dollars to help offset the rising cost of the football teams yearly expenses.      

The Walled Lake Western Football program has been a perennial powerhouse during the last decade.  They have won the Michigan State High School Football Championship twice in the last seven years.  This can be attributed to Head Coach Mike Zdebski’s (6^th year) hard work and dedication to the team.

On and off the field Coach Zdebski brings out the best in his players.  Aside from the two State Championships, Coach Zdebski’s kids have been honored with the following academic and community awards over the years:

1. 2003 Fraser Award from the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association presented to the school in the State of Michigan that has done an “Outstanding Job” of promoting reading in their communities.
2. 2001 Steve Spicer Award from the MHSFCA presented to the school that completes the most community service.
3. 2000 Oakland Press Volunteers of the Month for working with the United Way’s “A Day of Caring.”
4. 1995 Class AA Academic All State Team Champion.  The 2002 team finished with a 3.758 team average, which was one, the top in the state.  

The alumni continue to support their Alma Mater by playing in this year’s event.  We look forward to another enjoyable and successful family golf outing.  See you in July!
